Update Your Flyers to Party Flyers and Watch Returns Increase

When you think of promoting an event by handing out flyers, do you conjure images of brightly colored 8 ½ by 11 pieces of paper printed with black ink? That’s what they used to be. They were mainly distributed by handing them directly to people or leaving them on the windshield of cars in parking lots so that the owner would have to take them or drive off without having a good view of the road.

Party flyers, also referred to as club flyers, have changed the whole experience of flyers as a marketing tool. Usually 4 x 6 inches or smaller, they are printed on card stock and incorporate color, preferably in some sort of attractive visual. Party flyers are more like postcards than traditional flyers and are perhaps even more akin to business cards than flyers, but regardless of the lingo, club flyers are proving to be an effective marketing tool.

They usually serve as reminders and/or “invitations” to specific events but may be relevant to an entire series of events. Next time you think you should print flyers, look into designing party flyers instead of your normal format for business flyers. They are fun, and if you can make it attractive, your potential customers will keep them, which is where they become really valuable.

People are bombarded with information and all kinds of stimulus all day long. It’s a wonder we remember anything, much less everything that we experience as we go through the day. That’s true of your customers, so if you can give them a reminder of your event that they want to keep, and preferably even display in a way that other people will see, then you have accomplished your goal.

If you don’t have a good camera, or are not artistically inclined, you can still design a great flyer. Several online printing companies have templates that provide the design and all you have to do is fill in the text. Don’t worry about getting some stodgy generic-looking flyer. The designs that you can get are available in full color with many different themes and styles. You can even find party flyers that coordinate with business cards, brochures, office stationery, and other marketing materials.

You can find standard pricing at around $50 for 250 pieces, printed on both sides. Online printing companies are known to frequently put up sales, so it’s worth shopping around. On the day this was written, several websites had the above price, but a quick online search brought up ads for 500 cards for $30 (you have to have your own design or pay them $75 to design it for you), and another similar company offered 1,000 4 x 6 cards for $59. Again, you have to upload your own design to make use of these low cost, small printing businesses, but for that kind of savings, it’s well worth the effort.

A few things to consider in designing your new flyer are listed below:
• Keep it bright: Use color. It’s attractive and helps to clarify illustrations and images.
• Keep it clean: nobody wants to read through clutter.
• Keep it clear: What do you want your party flyer to say about you and your event? Make sure to include the relevant info, but nothing extraneous.
• You can use the same design with different text details over and over, so invest in getting something designed for you if you can’t do it yourself.
