Top Three Reasons to Include Stickers in Your Promotional Materials

Why should you add stickers to your marketing? We’ll get right to the point…

Stickers Stay Where You Put Them

Of course they are removable, but unless they are in an obtrusive place, most people don’t bother. If you print on high quality paper (or vinyl for outdoor use), your sticker can even add to the aesthetics or perceived value of an item.

Of course, this would not apply to a screaming yellow “SALE” sticker, but a colorful sticker with an appropriately themed graphic, or even message, can be something that the user wants to keep on hand. For example, if you sell desktop items and your market includes Christian bookstores, then a brief Bible quote followed by your logo and company name is likely to remain in place when it is stuck on in a way that fits in with the product design. On the other hand, you need to make sure your stickers ARE actually appropriate. If you sell your items in a head shop, then you’ll want a whole different statement on there, or it could put off potential buyers before they even make a purchase.

Texture

The human eye is sensitive and is attracted to variance. On a flat surface, even a slight elevation makes something stand out. A sticker placed on a document will get attention much more than a printed image of the same thing. It often prompts the reader to touch it just to confirm that they are seeing correctly and it is in fact, a sticker. The benefit of that is that it focuses the reader’s attention even more on your document.

Uniqueness

Similarly to the way texture affects the viewer, unique shapes and colors draw attention. Whereas printing something like “Act Now!” on the page can still seem blasé, if it is on a sticker, it conveys the action of sticking it on, and even that small extra effort makes it even more meaningful.

Stickers don’t have to be round or rectangular. Die-cut shapes can take any form, and this is a feature that you should take advantage of. The unpredictable is always attention getting, and not only are the shape and color changeable, but the placement can be unusual too. Lines on a page follow an order and the reader’s eye knows what to expect. A sticker that is out of alignment arouses curiosity and must be investigated, even if only for a second. That is long enough to make an impression.

Stickers are simple to design and use but have a high impact value. They are also relatively inexpensive, thanks to the availability of printing online. There are many sources of custom stickers doing business via the Internet. With only a little searching, you are sure to find what you need.
