Recreating Your Image for the New Year with Print
You have been in business for a couple of years or more. You have been using the same business cards, the same brochures and the same approach since you opened your doors. It is time to look at your marketing materials and figure out which you want to print again. January is the perfect time to revaluate your promotional positioning.
Create Business Cards that Impress
When you first started your company, chances are your goal was to get some business cards that, at least to some degree, represented your field, and hopefully had your company logo front and center. If you didn’t it is high time to change that. If you did, great, but it is time to update. New materials such as wood, plastic and metal are increasingly popular and might suit you to a “t”.
To create a really useful and attractive business card you need to keep graphics to a minimum and make the text stand out while remaining readable. That usually translates into including only your company logo and contact information. The way to turn a card into something unique is to use the additional features that are now commonly available; die cut shapes, foil embossing, unusual materials and such. Before you order another batch of the same cards, look around the internet for a bit and find a way to update your cards.
Revamp Your Order; Brochures are Easy to Reorganize
Even if the information on your brochures doesn’t change significantly, you can alter the order in which you present the information, include or remove price lists and tout new product lines. You can even use brochures as mailers, when tri-folded they are the same size as an envelope. If you coordinate your mailing list with your brochure order then you kill two birds with one stone.
Consider expanding your brochure line. Use one for price related questions, another for promotional offers and another just to inform potential clients about your services. By making several brochures, you guarantee that you will always have something you can hand someone when they ask a question. Having something in hand will improve response and customer retention.
Print Flyers to Announce Anything New
Flyers are almost like marketing junk food. Cheap, easy to print and quick to make a point, flyers are an ideal way to let customers know about what is going on without the expense of color printed brochures. They also require little effort in design so they are perfect if you are working on a short lead time.
A good flyer is nearly as effective as a brochure; it just doesn’t contain as much information. Once you have the customer in your door you can pass out a brochure, and one of your newly designed business cards, increasing their interest in your company and what you offer.
Learning how to make use of print projects and printed marketing materials is just one of the skills you need to continue to be a successful entrepreneur. The business world never slows down, never rests and never stops. To stay on top of your market you must continually reinvent yourself and your business.
