Online printer PrintPlace.com has a long list of products available, including everything from single-sided flyers to 96-page catalogs. Their specialty products include calendars, envelopes, labels, and stickers. They even offer “green” options and same day turnaround (for an additional fee). However, the thing that may make the online printing company the best choice for your marketing needs is their direct mailing service.

To take advantage of having the company mail your products to your mailing list, you simply put your finalized product in your online shopping cart, then select “Direct Mail” in the place where you would ordinarily choose your shipping method. You will enter your own address so that they can send the remainders to you after the mailing is done.

The mailing service includes processing the mailing list, and they will remove duplicates if you wish. The mailing list is CASS certified, which entails running it through Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) software that corrects and standardizes the addresses to help the post office deliver each piece. Envelopes are addressed with an inkjet printer, and postal presorting is also taken care of by the printing company. Finally, they will deliver the addressed and sorted mailers to the post office.

All this can be a very time-consuming process for a small business person to do. Should you require inserts or processing of multiple mailing lists, they will be happy to do that for an additional fee. The mailing will be scheduled to go out in just two days after your order is placed.

Direct mail has proven to be very effective, even in this Internet-dominated age. Perhaps because we now get so much e-mail, it is losing its impact, whereas a postcard or letter received in the mail warrants at least being picked up, opened, and looked at by the recipient. Often they may be thrown on the desk to look at later, which is much better than being deleted from an e-mail program, never to be seen again.
