3 Aspects of Designing Brochures that Get Your Message Across
Brochures are one of the marketing tools that have stood the test of time. People expect to be able to pick up a brochure and learn about your company and what you have to offer. In order to produce the kind of brochure that provides the kind of response you are looking for, keep these three things in mind when designing it:
• Aesthetics
Your brochure should be visually appealing. It should have a look that draws the eye so that potential customers will want to pick it up. Typically when you order brochures, they will be printed on a heavier stock and will have a glossy finish. This adds to the appeal as well as the professional image.
• Visuals
Graphics not only make a piece more interesting, but they also illustrate your information in an engaging way. When someone picks up a brochure, they generally have the expectation that it will present the product visually. This is usually in the form of photographs, but can also be charts, graphs, or any other kind of image.
• Content
A brochure provides much more opportunity to convey information to potential customers or clients than a poster or postcard does. When you print borchures, make sure to cover Who you are, What you do (or sell), Where you are located, and How to reach you. This includes you physical address, phone number, and website address.
If you don’t have a website, get one. Even a single-page free website is better than none. Most people will check online for information when they encounter a new business, and they should at least find an established presence. As soon as you can, be sure to follow up with putting up a high-quality website. These can be maintained for as little as $5 a month.
Business brochures do not have to be expensive to produce. If you don’t have a design, there are many templates available online, and often printer or computers will come with a software package that includes some brochure layouts. Find one that you like, and check that it incorporates the above three points. You may need to modify the content, but otherwise, you will find that professionally-designed brochures already include all three important aspects.
